Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the PawPlate platform (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PawPlate is a multi-tenant, software-as-a-service ("SaaS") platform for pet hotels, daycares, and related pet-care businesses. It provides facility-management workflows including check-in, feeding scheduling, medication administration, belongings tracking, daily reports, owner communications, and billing.
3. Account registration
The Service supports two account types:
- Tenant business accounts — held by pet-care facilities that subscribe to the Service.
- Owner accounts — held by individual pet owners interacting with a facility through the Service (e.g. for intake forms or update notifications).
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@pawplate.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Subscription plans and billing
The Service is offered on the following published tiers (matching www.pawplate.co.za):
- Starter — R 499 / month — for boutique facilities up to 30 dogs.
- Pro — R 1,499 / month — for established facilities up to 120 dogs and up to 10 staff seats.
- White-Label & Enterprise — Custom (quote-only) — for multi-site operators, white-label re-sellers, and bespoke arrangements. Contact hello@pawplate.co.za for a quote.
Subscriptions renew monthly via PayFast until cancelled. Fees are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. We may change pricing on 30 days' notice; the change applies to your next billing cycle.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including POPIA, the CPA, or animal-welfare legislation.
- Upload malicious code, attempt to circumvent access controls, or probe the infrastructure for vulnerabilities outside an authorised disclosure programme.
- Store data of any third party without their lawful basis to do so.
- Resell, sublicense, or rent access to the Service except under a written White-Label agreement with us.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, design, copy, and brand assets, is owned by Yappitech (Pty) Ltd and its licensors. You retain ownership of all data you upload (your "Customer Data"). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and back up Customer Data solely to operate the Service for you.
7. Service availability and support
We target a monthly uptime of 99.9% measured at the application layer, excluding scheduled maintenance and force-majeure events. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Support is provided by email at hello@pawplate.co.za during South African business hours.
8. Liability limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us during that period. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost data (other than as required to be restored from backup), or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (the "CPA").
9. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the in-app billing screen; access continues until the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate the Service for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law, on reasonable notice where practical. On termination, we will provide a reasonable opportunity to export your Customer Data before deletion.
10. Dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Western Cape High Court for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, subject to your statutory rights as a consumer under the CPA. We encourage you to contact legal@pawplate.co.za first; most issues are resolved without formal proceedings.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be notified by email to the billing contact on each account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
